Littleness - book

Littleness is a collaborative book project between designer and creative Elisa Defossez, and photographer Juho Huttunen showcased in the Omotesando Artek store in Tokyo.
Beyond the evident attraction Japan and Finland share in design and art scenes, Littleness rather explores this subliminal bond in a personal and intuitive way, through texts and photographs.
In my view, the foundation of this connection lies in the relationship between humans and nature.
Faced with a powerful nature in Japan, and a harsh one in Finland, both peoples have developed a deep resilience and a sense of humility that permeates their cultures in various ways.
The photographs taken by Juho Huttunen capture details of daily life in both countries.
In the book, we chose to blend them together so they could enter into dialogue and create a unified atmosphere, allowing the reader to personally feel the connection that exists between the two cultures.

This book has been introduced through an exhibition at Artek Tokyo flagship store in spring 2024.
